Happy New Year, Everyone!
As we, in the Georgia's 14th District, prayerfully brought in 2020, the West Freeway Church of Christ congregation can give thanks and special prayer, having survived a December 29th shooting that killed two parishioners. The actions of armed security volunteers absolutely saved the lives of multiple others by stopping a bad guy armed with a shotgun. Many have credited the state legislature and the Republican Governor Greg Abbott for enacting a bill “allowing” gun owners to carry in churches. Fact is the Second Amendment allows for the carry of guns in churches! The Texas legislature and the governor simply eased state-imposed restrictions on the Constitution!

Thank you, God, for allowing us to transition from this past decade into 2020. These are exciting times. I pray for all of our legislators, President Donald Trump, and all people who are in civilian and military leadership positions. I pray you fill them with grace and wisdom to recognize that You, God, are in control over all matters and that they learn to rely on you through prayer in all decisions they make. I pray these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen!
In this new decade, realize all, that the United States Constitution is just as valid as it was on June 21, 1788, the day the Constitution was ratified.
